A new joint white paper from the Australian NCRIS Health Group and the European Life Sciences Research Infrastructure Strategy Board sets out a shared vision for building a structured, well-resourced Australia–Europe research infrastructure ecosystem in health and life sciences.
Building on sustained engagement between the two communities, including meetings in Prato (2023 and 2025) and Brisbane (2024), the paper reflects strong alignment, trust, and a shared readiness to move from dialogue to action. It outlines opportunities for transcontinental collaboration to address global challenges in health and life sciences, from data-driven research and artificial intelligence to emerging health threats and climate-related impacts, while aligning with the 2025 European Strategy on Research and Technology Infrastructures and Australia’s forthcoming 2026 NCRIS Roadmap.
